News Update from the Director

Planning is in the initial stages for a fabulous return season in Perth and Margaret River, Western Australia, in January 2008.

Audiences will again be thrilled with the wonderful presence and voice of London-based, Perth-born Kathryn McCusker (soprano) treating us to Leonore’s Recitative & Aria from Beethoven’s Fidelio, as well as Beethoven’s Aria Ah! perfido for Soprano & Orchestra.

Excitingly, at these concerts, these vocal masterpieces will have their first ever Historically-Informed-Performance (HIP) in Australia with the orchestra playing on instruments of the Classical Period.

In addition, Kathryn says that she may even surprise and delight us with some dramatic arias by Christoph Willibald Gluck.

To compliment the vocal works, full use will be made of the tone colours available from the assembled classical instruments in presenting instrumental works by Haydn.

So watch this space for news of upcoming projects and further developments !
